INDIGO ESCRIME WELCOMES YOU!

What is Indigo Escrime?  Indigo is helpful, inclusive, supportive and here to help fencers, coaches, parents and interested by-standers.

We run courses for fencers and for fencing supporters, encouraging participation at all levels of the sport.  Whether you’re interested in learning to referee, fix a blade, plan your competition schedule, eat a fencer’s diet (suggestions on a postcard), go to more foreign competitions...we’re here to help.  At the moment, most of our work is in supporting the development of Under 15 fencers who are not yet in the cadet programmes; and other fencers who fall outside the programmes structured for their age and stage (you’re ranked 9th and only the top 8 are on the development programme, as an example).

Over time, this site will develop into a one-stop-shop of fencing advice: ask us questions and we will do our best to answer them.  Soon, you can become a member of Indigo.  We’re not a club and you won’t be coming to us once a week for coaching: membership will give you the tools to improve your performance, augment your training regime, make your relationship with your coach stronger.

INDIGO WHY?

It’s a good colour.  It is also a blend of the colours of the countries making up the UK and British Fencing.  It’s the colour of Chichester, which is where we started with our first course.  And it’s noticeable: in foreign competition halls, we can pick out our fencers a mile off!
